Take action against Leekes reindeer exploitation

This coming weekend, Leekes, the Welsh based retailer of home furnishings and home improvement goods, are running Christmas events with live reindeer. Visitors with their children will be able to approach the reindeer without any knowledge of these sensitive prey animals. A home furnishing store is simply an unacceptable environment for prey animals such as reindeer.

Reindeer are semi-wild animals who are forced to endure hours of loud noises without any opportunity to escape. They are treated as mere props for just minutes of entertainment and amusement, while reindeer suffer a lifetime of confinement and exploitation. During these cruel and unnecessary events, sensitive reindeer will experience high levels of stress and anxiety.

This has to stop. Leekes must commit to ending their yearly Santa grottos events which use live animals.
